Our 2.5D×51MM high shrinkage low melting polyester staple fiber is a high-performance bicomponent functional fiber specially developed for synthetic leather, shoe material, filter and textile shaping industries. Adopting advanced concentric sheath-core composite spinning process, it perfectly combines low-temperature thermal bonding and controllable thermal shrinkage functions, replacing the traditional process of "adhesive bonding + separate sizing", and realizes one-step heating to complete bonding and shaping, which is an efficient and environment-friendly upgraded raw material for the textile and nonwoven industries.
Different from ordinary single-function low-melting fibers that only provide bonding effect, this fiber adds a high-shrinkage core layer on the basis of the low-melting sheath. When heated to the process temperature, the sheath layer melts first to form firm inter-fiber physical bonds; at the same time, the core layer undergoes controllable thermal shrinkage, driving the overall fabric to shrink evenly, forming a tighter fiber structure and a fuller, denser hand feel. This dual-function design simplifies the production process, reduces equipment input and labor costs, and significantly improves the quality grade of finished products.
The 2.5D fine denier and 51mm standard length are universal specifications widely used in the textile and nonwoven industries. The fiber has good spinnability and web forming performance, runs smoothly on various high-speed carding and needling production lines, and has low fly waste and high production efficiency. The shrinkage rate of each batch is strictly controlled, with uniform shrinkage in both warp and weft directions, and no local deformation or uneven hand feel after heat setting, ensuring stable quality of mass-produced products.
In terms of environmental protection and safety, the whole process adopts physical thermal bonding without adding any chemical adhesives, no VOC emission, no toxic and harmful residues, and meets the environmental protection and safety standards of European and American markets. It can be widely used in close-fitting clothing, indoor furniture and automotive interior products. This bicomponent fiber integrates two core functions into a single filament through precision composite spinning technology. The low-melting sheath softens and melts at 120-130°C to form firm physical bonds between fibers, while the high-shrinkage core produces controllable dimensional shrinkage under heat. One heating process completes both bonding and shaping simultaneously, eliminating separate sizing and bonding steps, significantly simplifying the production process and improving manufacturing efficiency.
No chemical adhesives, glues or binders are required in the entire production process. The melted sheath forms homogeneous fiber-to-fiber bonding points with high peel strength and long-term durability, avoiding the problems of glue migration, odor emission and brittle bonding points common in traditional adhesive processes. It fully meets global environmental protection requirements, eliminates VOC emission hazards, and produces safer and more durable finished products suitable for close-fitting and indoor application scenarios.
The high-shrinkage core delivers stable and uniform thermal shrinkage, with a dry heat shrinkage rate of 25%-30% at 180°C. Manufacturers can flexibly adjust the final fabric density, thickness and stiffness by controlling heating temperature and holding time. After heat treatment, the fabric has a tighter fiber structure, fuller suede hand feel, better dimensional stability and no local shrinkage deformation, which is the core raw material for producing high-grade artificial suede, velour and high-density felt materials.
The 2.5D fine denier specification balances fiber strength and softness, suitable for producing delicate suede fabrics, high-density filter materials and thin-type lining materials. The 51mm standard cut length is universally compatible with all mainstream carding machines, needle punching lines, spunlace equipment and ring spinning systems at home and abroad. It can be directly put into production without equipment modification or major process adjustment, and runs stably on high-speed production lines with low fly waste.
Standardized closed-loop composite spinning production ensures precise control of sheath-core concentricity, melting point uniformity, shrinkage consistency and length accuracy for each batch. The batch-to-batch fluctuation of shrinkage rate is controlled within ±3%, avoiding the common quality problems of uneven shrinkage, local hard spots and inconsistent hand feel in mass production. It supports 24-hour uninterrupted mass production, with low defective rate and stable finished product performance.
