Product Overview

Multi Hydrophilic Composite Short Fiber is engineered to absorb water repeatedly, making it an ideal choice for the absorbent layer of sanitary products and diapers.

Specification: 2D × 38 mm

Customization: Specifications can be tailored to your requirements.

Detailed Product Description

The 2D × 38 mm full hydrophilic bicomponent low-melting staple fiber addresses critical performance requirements in absorbent nonwoven production. Single-hydrophilic fibers are designed for directional liquid transfer in top sheets, but cannot deliver the fast, uniform, high-volume absorption needed for absorbent cores and wipe products. Conventional adhesive-bonded nonwovens carry risks of chemical residue, skin irritation, and stiff hand feel. High-speed production lines also demand strict consistency in fiber specification and bonding performance to minimize downtime and waste.

This product is purpose-built to solve these challenges. Its sheath-core bicomponent architecture integrates bonding function and structural strength into one fiber. The outer PE sheath melts evenly under low heat to form continuous, soft bonding points across the fiber web, while the inner PP core maintains dimensional stability and tensile strength. This eliminates the need for chemical binders, producing formaldehyde-free, skin-friendly nonwoven products.

The full double-sided hydrophilic surface treatment is a key functional feature. Unlike single hydrophilic treatment which creates directional flow, full hydrophilic modification ensures rapid wetting and uniform liquid diffusion across the entire fiber web. This maximizes absorption speed, liquid retention, and absorbent core utilization, making it highly suitable for the absorbent core layer of diapers and sanitary products, as well as for wet wipes that require uniform liquid saturation.

At 2D fine denier and 38 mm staple length, it is optimized for modern high-speed nonwoven production lines. It opens and cards smoothly, forms uniform, defect-free fiber webs, and bonds consistently across the entire web width at controlled temperatures. The bright, clean white appearance provides an excellent base for hygiene and medical products that require a clean, premium visual impression.

Manufactured under ISO quality management in a closed production system, every batch is tested for denier, length, melting point, hydrophilicity, and whiteness to ensure uniform performance. We supply in bulk with stable stock and support customization of melting point, hydrophilic level, denier, length, and functional modifications such as antibacterial treatment. Samples are available for hydrophilicity testing, absorption measurement, bonding trials, and web formation evaluation before placing bulk orders.

Application Scenarios
Absorbent Cores & Disposable Hygiene

Diaper absorbent cores, adult incontinence pads, sanitary napkins, and panty liners. Full hydrophilic performance delivers fast liquid uptake, uniform diffusion, and high retention capacity, improving overall absorbency and product performance.

Wet Wipes & Cleansing Products

Baby wipes, household cleaning wipes, industrial wipes, and cosmetic cotton pads. Double-sided hydrophilicity ensures uniform liquid saturation and consistent wiping performance, with a soft low-linting fiber web suitable for delicate skin.

Medical & Health Nonwovens

Surgical dressings, wound care pads, face mask absorbent layers, medical disposable sheets, and dental materials. Hygiene-grade purity and excellent absorbency meet medical product safety and performance requirements.

Thermal Bonded Wadding & Filling

Thermal bonded cotton, garment interlining, quilt batting, and furniture filling. Adhesive-free low-temperature bonding produces formaldehyde-free, soft, and breathable padding products with consistent quality.

Industrial Filtration Media

Liquid filter media, air filter layers, and industrial absorbent materials. Uniform fiber web structure and controlled hydrophilicity deliver consistent filtration efficiency and absorption capacity.

Core Features & Benefits
  • Double-Sided Full Hydrophilic Treatment — Fast Absorption & Uniform Diffusion Uniform hydrophilic modification across the entire fiber surface delivers instant liquid wetting, rapid penetration, and even horizontal diffusion. It provides high liquid retention capacity and consistent absorbency, making it ideal for absorbent cores, wet wipes, and filtration media where thorough, fast liquid uptake is required.
  • Sheath-Core Bicomponent Structure — Low-Temperature Thermal Bonding Classic sheath-core architecture: the outer PE sheath melts at low temperatures to form strong, uniform bonding points, while the inner PP core maintains fiber strength and structural integrity. It enables adhesive-free thermal bonding, producing formaldehyde-free, skin-friendly nonwoven products with a soft hand feel.
  • 2D Fine Denier + 38 mm Staple — Optimized for High-Speed Production 2D fine denier creates dense, soft fiber webs with a smooth surface and excellent absorbency uniformity. The 38 mm staple length is calibrated for high-speed carding, air-laid, and through-air bonding lines, ensuring smooth fiber opening, uniform web formation, and minimal fly waste.
  • Hygiene-Grade Bright White — Pure & Non-Irritating Produced from virgin food-grade polyolefin raw materials in a closed clean production system, it features a bright, consistent white shade with no impurities, no fluorescent agents, and no odor. It meets safety standards for skin-contact, baby care, and medical nonwoven products.
  • Soft Bonded & Low Linting — Stable Web Integrity Low-temperature fusion creates flexible, resilient bonding points without hard spots or brittleness. The bonded web maintains good softness, tensile strength, and dimensional stability, with minimal fiber shedding and linting, suitable for wiping and absorbent hygiene applications.
  • Consistent Batch Quality — Customizable Performance Strict in-line control of denier tolerance, length uniformity, melting point, and hydrophilicity ensures consistent performance batch after batch. Hydrophilic level, melting point, denier, length, and functional modifications such as antibacterial treatment can be customized to match specific application needs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1: What is the difference between full hydrophilic and single hydrophilic?

A: Single hydrophilic means only one side of the fiber is treated for directional liquid transfer, ideal for top sheets. Full hydrophilic means the entire fiber surface is hydrophilic, delivering faster, more uniform absorption and higher liquid retention, making it better for absorbent cores, wet wipes, and filtration products.

Q2: What is the melting point? Can it be adjusted?

A: The standard melting point of the PE sheath is approximately 130°C. We can adjust the melting point and bonding strength according to your production process and product requirements, with lower and higher melting grades available.

Q3: Is this fiber safe for baby products and skin contact?

A: Yes. It is made from virgin food-grade polyolefin raw materials, produced in a clean closed system, and contains no fluorescent agents, harmful chemicals, or irritating residues. It meets safety standards for skin-contact hygiene and baby care products.

Q4: What production processes is it compatible with?

A: It is compatible with carding, air-laid, through-air bonding, thermal calendering, and needle punching processes. The 2D denier and 38 mm staple length are optimized for high-speed nonwoven production lines for stable, efficient processing.

Q5: Can it be used to make adhesive-free thermal bonded wadding?

A: Yes. The low-melting sheath bonds fiber to fiber when heated, forming stable, soft wadding structures without any chemical adhesives. This produces formaldehyde-free, breathable, and skin-friendly padding products.

Q6: Can you customize hydrophilic level or other properties?

A: Yes. We can adjust the hydrophilic degree, melting point, denier, and length, and add functional properties such as antibacterial, odor-resistant, or flame-retardant treatment to meet specific application needs.

Q7: Can we get samples for testing before bulk order?

A: Yes, samples are available for hydrophilicity evaluation, liquid absorption testing, thermal bonding trials, web formation testing, and hand feel confirmation. Please contact us to request sample details.

Q8: What is the lead time for bulk orders?

A: Standard specifications are generally shipped within 3–7 working days for stock items. Custom specifications and functional modifications usually take 7–15 working days after deposit confirmation, depending on order quantity.
