Our 2.8D×32MM PBT PET side-by-side bicomponent composite staple fiber is a mature cost-effective elastic functional textile raw material, engineered to combine PBT's superior soft stretch and PET's stable durable performance in one fiber structure. It solves three major industry points: high cost of spandex, poor elasticity of ordinary PET, and low dimensional stability of pure PBT fiber, becoming a mainstream stretch raw material for global knitting and weaving factories.
The core side-by-side melt-spun design locks PBT and PET tightly at the molecular interface without delamination or splitting during drawing, spinning and post-processing. Latent crimp is activated simply via standard heat-setting after spinning, forming uniform compact 3D curls that create fluffy bulk and consistent stretch across every yarn batch.

Made by side-by-side co-extrusion spinning of PBT and PET with different thermal shrinkage coefficients. After heat setting, natural dense 3D crimp forms automatically, delivering lasting stretch and rebound performance. Elastic recovery above 90%, far superior to ordinary single PET fiber; serves as economical spandex replacement without yellowing or aging defects of spandex.
PBT component brings ultra-soft, silk-like hand feel, excellent flexibility and wear resistance similar to nylon; PET reinforces dimensional stability, heat resistance and tensile strength to offset PBT's high-temp weak rigidity. The composite fiber combines the best of both polymers: fluffy soft touch, tough tensile performance, wrinkle-free and shape-retention for finished garments.
Unlike pure PET requiring high-pressure high-temp dyeing, PBT PET composite fiber achieves vivid, saturated color under atmospheric boiling water with regular disperse dyes, no expensive carrier additives needed. Color fastness to washing, rubbing and sunlight reaches Grade 4-5; dyed fabrics maintain consistent shade batch to batch.
Precision fixed 32mm cotton-type cut with neat incision, ultra-low broken filament and flying waste during high-speed carding and spinning lines. Fiber bundle holds good cohesion and fluidity, runs smoothly on all mainstream spinning equipment with low yarn breakage rate, boosting production yield and lowering factory loss cost.
Much more affordable than pure PBT fiber and spandex; delivers 70-80% of spandex's elastic performance at far lower raw material price. No extra spandex covering or core-spun steps required; one-step spinning of PBT PET staple directly makes stretch yarn, simplifying production workflow.
