Detailed Product Description

Ordinary polyester is naturally hydrophobic: water beads on the surface, sweat stays trapped against the skin, and fabrics feel sticky, damp and uncomfortable during wear or cleaning. Surface-coated hydrophilic fibers appear absorbent when new, but the treatment wears off after a few wash cycles, leaving the nonwoven or fabric moisture-repellent again and causing inconsistent product quality. Low-grade recycled staple used in wipes and hygiene cloths may also carry impurities, an off-white dull color, uneven length and batch instability, while products that rely on fluorescent whitening agents to appear bright raise concerns for skin-contact and hygiene use.

This permanent hydrophilic staple fiber addresses each of those problems at the material level. The hydrophilic component is added before spinning and dispersed uniformly inside the polyester filament, so moisture is managed by the fiber itself rather than by a temporary surface film. Water contacts the fiber, spreads along capillary paths and evaporates quickly, and the same behavior remains effective after repeated laundering because the active ingredient cannot rinse or abrade away. For wipes, towels and mop cloths that are washed and reused, this means stable absorption over the whole product life instead of performance fading after the first few cycles.

The fiber is supplied in native virgin white without optical brightener, keeping the clean, plain appearance expected for hygiene and skin-contact materials. No fluorescent agent is added to compensate for dull recycled color, giving buyers a safer, lower-irritation raw material option for care products, baby-facing nonwovens and household cloths. Dyeing is still available when colored end products are required.

At 8D denier and 64 mm length, the fiber belongs to a general-purpose staple grade widely used in nonwoven forming and yarn spinning. Its strength and denier give webs enough body and abrasion resistance, while the standard length ensures good carding alignment and web uniformity. It blends easily with viscose or cotton to increase softness and absorbency, or with regular polyester to control cost and durability, allowing mills to engineer products from light dry wipes to heavy-duty mop fabrics and filter felts.

For manufacturers, the key production benefit is predictability. Every batch is checked for denier, staple length, whiteness, moisture-wicking behavior and tensile performance, so carding lines, spinning frames and nonwoven machines run consistently with low waste. We supply bulk stock and support customization of denier, length, hydrophilic level, color and additional functional treatments such as antibacterial finish. Samples are available for wicking tests, water absorption trials, wash durability verification, nonwoven forming trials and spinning confirmation before bulk orders.

Application Scenarios
Wipes & Disposable Hygiene Nonwovens

Wet and dry wipes, cleaning cloths, hygienic absorbent pads, facial wipes and care nonwovens. Permanent hydrophilicity lets the nonwoven absorb and hold moisture evenly; fluorescent-free native white supports clean, skin-contact product positioning.

Towel, Washcloth & Mop Fabrics

Towel yarns, washcloths, bath linings, mop strands and cleaning cloths. Capillary wicking spreads water fast, quick-dry performance reduces damp odor, and polyester durability withstands repeated washing and scrubbing in household cleaning use.

Moisture-Wicking Apparel & Inner Layers

Sportswear knit yarns, base layer fabrics, shoe linings and breathable linings. Embedded wicking moves perspiration away from the skin surface for evaporative cooling, avoiding the clammy feel common to untreated polyester fabrics.

Filter Media & Industrial Nonwovens

Air and liquid filter webs, adsorption layers, hygiene nonwoven substrates and industrial cleaning felts. Stable fiber strength, uniform web formation and controlled hydrophilicity support consistent liquid handling and filtration performance.

Core Features & Benefits
  • Permanent Embedded Hydrophilic Performance, No Wash-Off. Hydrophilic functional components are blended into the virgin PET melt and locked inside each filament during spinning. Unlike ordinary surface-treated hydrophilic fibers that lose absorbency after a few washes, this permanent hydrophilic staple keeps stable moisture wicking, capillary spreading and water uptake cycle after cycle, ensuring durable performance for washable wipes, towels and hygiene textiles.
  • Strong Capillary Wicking & Fast Moisture Release, Quick Dry. The fiber structure draws moisture along capillary channels, spreads liquid evenly over the fabric surface and releases moisture to air efficiently. It accelerates evaporation, reduces damp clinging and keeps the final product dry, comfortable and fresh, delivering the moisture-management performance expected in sportswear, mop cloths, wipes and hygienic absorbent layers.
  • Native Virgin White, Zero Fluorescent Whitening Agent. Produced from clean virgin PET chips and presented in natural native white, the fiber contains no fluorescent whitening agent, no brightening additive and no harsh residual chemical finish. The plain white base suits skin-contact, baby-care, medical-adjacent and hygiene scenarios where low irritation and clean raw material appearance are required, and can be dyed to other shades as needed.
  • 8D Regular Denier + 64 mm Standard Staple, Wide Process Compatibility. 8D regular denier provides balanced fiber strength, softness and processability, while the 64 mm classic staple length fits mainstream carding, ring spinning, needle punching, thermal bonding, air-laid and nonwoven equipment. It opens, cards and forms webs or yarns smoothly with low breakage and fly waste, supporting efficient high-volume production.
  • Virgin PET Base, Clean & Consistent Quality. Made from virgin polyester feedstock under strict in-process quality control, the fiber features uniform denier tolerance, even cut length, low impurity content and stable tensile strength. Batch-to-batch whiteness, hydrophilicity and processing behavior remain consistent, reducing waste, defects and performance variation for nonwoven and textile manufacturers.
  • Combines Polyester Durability with Hydrophilic Comfort. It retains the natural strength, abrasion resistance, shape stability and wrinkle resistance of polyester, while permanent hydrophilic chemistry solves the classic drawback of ordinary polyester — hydrophobic, moisture-repelling and clammy feel. The end product stays durable, easy to care for and comfortable against skin.
  • Flexible Blending Capability for Targeted Performance. The staple can be blended with cotton, viscose, bamboo fiber, ordinary polyester or other functional fibers to tune absorption rate, softness, strength, weight and cost. Manufacturers can tailor wipes, towels, mop fabrics and hygiene layers to specific absorbency and hand-feel targets.
  • Multiple Functional Applications Across Hygiene & Industry. Suitable for disposable and reusable wipes, hygienic absorbent layers, towel and washcloth fabrics, mop and cleaning cloths, filter media, moisture-wicking apparel yarns, shoe linings and breathable nonwoven products, covering consumer hygiene, household cleaning and industrial textile uses.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: What is the difference between permanent hydrophilic fiber and surface-treated hydrophilic fiber?

Surface-treated hydrophilic fiber receives a coating on the outside, which washes or abrades away over time and loses absorbency. Permanent hydrophilic fiber has hydrophilic additives embedded into the polyester polymer during spinning; the moisture-wicking performance stays inside the filament and remains stable through repeated washing and long-term use.

Q2: Does this fiber actually absorb water, and how fast does it dry?

Yes. It draws moisture through capillary channels, spreads liquid evenly across the fabric or nonwoven, and releases it to air efficiently. This combination gives reliable moisture uptake and a relatively quick drying rate, helping wipes, mop cloths, towels and inner layers stay fresh and less damp.

Q3: Is there any fluorescent whitening agent in this fiber?

No. It is produced in native virgin white with no fluorescent whitening agent added. This makes it suitable for hygiene, skin-contact and cleaning products where clean appearance and low-irritation raw material requirements are important; colored versions can be supplied through dyeing or custom coloring when needed.

Q4: Is this fiber suitable for wipes and hygiene nonwoven production?

Yes. The permanent hydrophilicity, clean native white appearance and 8D/64 mm processing grade are well suited for dry and wet wipes, hygienic absorbent layers and other nonwoven products. It works on carding, needle-punched, thermal-bonded and other mainstream nonwoven processes.

Q5: Why 8D denier and 64 mm length? Which processes can it run on?

8D regular denier balances strength and softness, and 64 mm is a standard staple length compatible with carding, ring spinning, needle punching, thermal bonding, air-laid and nonwoven forming equipment. It can be used to produce nonwoven webs, cleaning cloths and blended yarns without special process changes for most standard lines.

Q6: Can it be blended with cotton, viscose or other fibers?

Yes. It can be blended with cotton, viscose, bamboo fiber, ordinary polyester or other staples at different ratios to adjust absorbency, hand feel, strength, weight and cost for towels, wipes, mop cloths, apparel yarns and filter products.

Q7: Will the hydrophilic effect disappear after washing?

No. Because the hydrophilic component is locked into the fiber matrix rather than coated on the surface, wash cycles do not strip it away. The wicking and absorption behavior remains much more stable over repeated laundering than surface-only treated fiber.

Q8: Is it possible to test samples before placing a bulk order?

Samples are available for water absorption testing, wicking observation, wash durability verification, nonwoven forming trials or spinning confirmation. Please share your end product and processing requirements so we can match the appropriate sample specification.

Q9: What is the lead time for bulk orders?

Standard specifications are generally shipped within 3–7 working days from stock. Custom denier, length, hydrophilic level, colors or functional treatments usually take 7–15 working days after order confirmation, depending on order quantity and customization scope.
